The American Timberwrights Process: From Vision to Reality

STEP 1: Vision & Design Consultation

• Initial Discovery: This is the fun part! Defining the vision! We meet with you to discuss your lifestyle, vision, budget, and building site.
• Concept and Blueprints: Our in-house design team collaborates with you to translate your ideas into detailed, efficient timber frame blueprints. We balance your vision with structural integrity.
• Budget and Scope of Work: We work with you to define your budget and the scope of work we will be executing.

STEP 2: Crafting & Fabrication

• 3D modeling and engineering: At this point we will further refine the 3D model in great detail and have it structurally assessed by a licensed engineer.
• Timber Selection: We source and select the finest timbers, often cut and prepared on-site at our facility.
• Precision Joinery: Our experienced timberwrights use a blend of old-world techniques and modern technology to precisely cut every beam and join (mortise, tenon, and pegs). Every piece is meticulously hand-finished and test-fitted.

STEP 3: The Raising & Enclosure

• The Raising: This is the most exciting day! The frame is transported to your site and skillfully raised —a magnificent event that typically takes only a few days.
